Volkswagon Necropolis

Volkswagen Necropolis - Another Haiku and Quilt
This quilt was a tribute to my first car. The fabric is hand painted, old computer parts were used as embellishments.

Haiku and Quilting

Long before I started quilting I envisioned myself a poet. This being said many of my quilts were inspired by my poetry, most from Haiku. Over the next month I will share some of these quilts with the inspiring poem.

Amongst mundane chores

Dreams and aspirations rise
Savanna dances

(Carousel Dreams)
Cantering steed bolts
Peals of laughter overhead

Rhythmic and lilting

Under all the leaves - spring

under the leaf mulch
green shoots raise their heads
first heralds of spring

Sketchbook Poject Day VIII - Mars

The background for this piece is of the silica spot accidentally found when the moon-rover  was having difficulty moving.   The background design was done with bleach and then the addition of a dark brown pencil.  It is a fairly accurate picture of one small section of the red planet's surface.
